The Blizzard of 2003
Here are a bunch of pictures showing the Blizzard of 2003. We were effectively stranded from Monday March 17th, through Saturday March 22nd. Since we have plenty of food, LP gas, firewood, and did not loose power, we were safe and comfortable throughout the stay.
The photos below are roughly in sequence from 3/18 through 3/22.
Finally, after 6 days on the mountain with the snow plows reaching
only 1/3 the way up the last steep hill, we decided to ram the snow drifts
and "car-sled" down the hill. The worst that could happen would be a stuck SUV
(actually, other bad things could happen too, but we'll skip that part), which wouldn't be any worse or different than being snowed-in.
.....just kidding. He's always like that.
Finally, a sad commentary on what happens to a kid who spends too much time outside in the cold, cold weather.....
