Cabin Principles & Rules
Principles
1) Above all else, Granite Wall Ranch is a place of
beauty, peace, calm and joy. This
principle over-rides all others and should be used to interpret any unclear
situations.
2) Go to bed at whatever time the spirit moves you.
3) Arise in the morning whenever you want.
4) Naps, Smiles, and Walks are highly encouraged.
5) Bad attitudes are not allowed. Leave them somewhere else. Better yet, shed yourself of them forever.
1) Candles are highly discouraged, and if used, must be
extinguished at night or before leaving the cabin.
2) If you leave the cabin, lock it (take a key
first…..).
3) Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the cabin or
garage.
4) This is bear country. Do NOT leave any food or garbage outside unless in bear-proof
containers. This includes the grill,
which must be cleaned and kept in the garage.
5) If you make a mess, you should clean in up. In general, you should attempt to leave the
cabin and the surroundings in better condition than when you arrived.
6) No cutting of trees.
7) No littering.
Anywhere. Ever. Even when you are at home. If you see litter, pick it up.
8) Water is a precious resource. Use water wisely and sparingly.
9) Electricity is a precious resource. Use electricity wisely and sparingly.
10) Outside fires are allowed only in the fire pit, and
only when fire danger conditions are moderate.
If you make an outside fire, make keep a full water bucket nearby and
ensure the coals are DEAD OUT before leaving the fire pit.
11) The use of electronic entertainment devices is highly
discouraged. There are board games,
cards, books, acoustical musical instruments, maps, and mountain full of
trails. Television is allowed only in
the basement level.
