Logs - Day Three

Day Three was expected to be the most challenging ride up the mountain:   the heaviest load (40,000 pounds of logs).   At several points in the process, the front wheels of the semi were off the ground as much as 4 feet.   Unfortunately, I don't have any digital photos of those moments.   We also had a multi-point failure at the lot 6 hairpin where weú lost a fuel line, the air brakes on the trailer, and the hydraulic brake line for the semi. However, by noon, the 6 sweetest words in the english language were spoken:   THE LOGS ARE UP THE MOUNTAIN!   By the end of the day, the truck was unloaded and back down the mountain.   However, not all the logs were stacked.

Here are several shots from the haul up the mountain:

Tom Snare and Rick Stiving repair the brakes.

Rick inspects the fuel system.

Chris and Wayne prepare for the day - getting the tool belts strapped-on.

By the end of Day Three, the first few posts were set and all the logs were unloaded from the truck.
