Logs - Day Four
On Day Four, we hoped to finish setting the log package.
However, while we started at 6:30 AM, it took longer than expected including some re-work:
we had to pull a number of posts and re-set the base of the truss because
2 bolts had not been properly installed. We also had problems with several
unlabeled logs - some guess work and "trial and error" placement was required.
Also, 2 of the crew members had to leave at 3:00.
The bottom line is that we did not complete the log set on Day Four.
There is probably a half-day of setting required - we plan to start again on Monday morning.
The entire day was spent in the roof system,
which is apparently one of the most complex and intricate log roof systems the crew had done before.

The plans show this area with a wall, however, I am leaning heavily to leaving it open.

At the end of the day, Larry, Jim, Neil and Gary discuss the schedule for finishing the project.
